Whitby Panorama

Here are a selection of panoramas that I took in this year at Whitby from several locations. I used a new method of stitching these – using the panorama merge in Adobe Camera Raw.  Then I processed the colours in Nik Color Effects. Here are the results.

Rhinefield - Colour Infrared - Paint FX

I had a look back at some of the first images I took on the converted Canon 20D Colour Infrared Camera, way back in January 2011.  The White balance I had not correctly set,  so the pictures looked bad on my original conversions.  I decided to see what I could get from the images, using some of the new image processing software that I have acquired since then, and some

Sunlit Moors

Whilst up in the Yorkshire Dales in September,  a walk on a sunny day, gave me the opportunity to take out my converted Canon 20D camera and take some Enhanced Colour Infrared images. Having now processed them using a variety of methods and several Topaz Plugins ( including Adjust, Restyle , Glow and Texture Effects), I have this collection of Colour Infrared Landscapes from the day.

Anderwood Autumn 1 (Restyle : MaizedOwl & Glow (Multiplied and Screened) & Simplify

After taking some Autumn Landscapes images at Anderwood in the New Forest last weekend, I used some of my Topaz Labs plugins to create different looks to the original photographs. I did this to Create new looks to the images. Brighten things up as the weather was overcast and dull. Here are 3 different images, processed with various Topaz Plugins, along with the original image in each case for comparison.

Wensleydale

I visited the North Yorkshire Dales in September – and as well as taking some Red Grouse photos, I also shot some landscape views whilst doing some hiking in the Dales. These are my favourite four landscape images from the visit. First a view over Swaledale from near the place I was staying. Then a view over Wensleydale from a hillside near West Burton. West Burton is a pretty village,

The reserve is accessed by a pedestrian ferry service that runs from Tarbet on demand during the visitor season. Tarbet and

River Stour and Christchurch Priory ( Toned Infrared Image)

Tuckton and Wick at Christchurch offer good walks along the River Stour from Tuckton Bridge, towards Hengistbury Head. Views of Christchurch Priory can be seen as you walk along the River. Pathways are mostly good along the banks of the river, turning slightly rougher as you enter the Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve on the southern side of the river. There is a passenger only Ferry to cross from one side

Loch Torridon

Torridon is a village, estate and area on the North West Coast of Scotland. The mountains and views around the area are superb, providing vistas for budding landscape photographers. But that is not all, the Loch itself is home to wildlife such as Dolphins, Seals and Otters that can be occasionally seen an photographed. In the village there is a Deer Sanctuary, where Red Deer can be seen, along with

Loch Kernsary - Landscape

A walk around Loch Kernsary or even just part way gives the photographer views of the Loch, Local farmland, and the distant Mountains that border Loch Maree. The circuit from Poolewe, Wester Ross, is about 10km long, by far the best part of the circuit walk that I followed – described on WalkHighlands.co.uk – is the first part along the Loch. Here there are obvious Landscape views to take, but

Upper Ardessie Falls

Ardessie Falls are a set of falls that, offer the photographer to take some shots of the impressive falls, and additionally take views over Little Loch Broom off the North West Coast of Scotland. The Falls are located at Ardessie Wester Ross, which is on the A832 between Poolewe and Ullapool. There is limited road side parking in a layby nearby. The lower falls can be viewed from the roadside,
